On the night of June 13, 2025, the Middle East region once again found itself at the epicenter of a rapidly developing military confrontation. According to reports from a number of international agencies, including Turkish media and the Reuters news agency, Iran launched a series of powerful missile strikes on Israeli territory. These actions were in response to a presumably coordinated operation by the Israeli Air Force targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, which began that same night.
According to information from various sources, the targets of the Iranian missile attacks included strategically important facilities, not only military but also economic ones. The headquarters of key ministries in Tel Aviv, including the defense and economic departments, as well as the city’s financial center, are mentioned. In addition, strikes were carried out on air bases such as Tel Nof and Navatim, where, according to some reports, advanced combat aircraft and radar warfare systems may be located.
Maritime infrastructure was also targeted, including a gas platform located off the coast near the Gaza Strip. This move can be seen as an attempt to disrupt Israel’s energy sector, which in turn has far-reaching consequences for the domestic market and export supplies.
The Israeli military said that most of the approximately 100 missiles fired in the first waves of the attack were successfully intercepted by air defense systems, including the famous Iron Dome complex. However, despite this, explosions and damage to buildings were reported in several areas of the country, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. According to preliminary data, more than 40 people were injured, some of them seriously.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu quickly issued a statement promising an “expanded response” and placing full responsibility for the escalation on Tehran.
In turn, Iranian news agencies such as Tasnim emphasize that the strikes were directed exclusively at military targets and that the operation is a “legitimate response” to Israel’s actions.
Analysts note that the current round of confrontation indicates a significant shift in the dynamics of the conflict. For the first time in recent years, the strikes are affecting infrastructure and economic hubs, which indicates a new level of risk for the entire region’s stability.

Diplomatic channels and decisions by the UN Security Council may now determine whether this exchange of strikes will escalate into a larger-scale confrontation with unpredictable consequences.
